This entry is part 6 of 19 in the series Barcelona to Rome

Gosh, it was hard to work that last day since we were taking a night flight to Barcelona.

Our ride to the airport arrived at 4:30 and off we went to the Philadelphia International Airport. Destination – the terminal for an international flight, not a domestic flight that didn’t have a gate in the domestic terminals…… We were lucky to get there before they closed the TSA pre-check line (whole separate story).

On to the gate, and of course to wait for the boarding….and of course I needed to get snacks even though there was going to be airline food on the flight. I love my snacks!

We were really getting on a flight to Barcelona! Our boarding group was called, we found our seats and settled in for our 8 hour flight to Spain. I think I bumped my head on the overhead console just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming. We were going to wake up in another country for what we hoped was going to be a magical trip, with so many new places to see and actually visit places we had dreamed about.

Only 7 hours and 56 minutes to go…….
